In contrast to the tranquil Sazanami iaito; Aranami Koshirae represents the power of tidal waves and storms. Patterns of giant waves and rough water are featured throughout the iaito's fuchi and kashira. Kiku Sukashi tsuba is an array of chrysanthium petals; that form a full chrysanthium flower; finished in flat black. The Maki-Ryu (dragon) menuki, in antique finish, is symbolic of the powerful tidal wave theme, presented on the silver fuchi/kashira.

100% cotton tsuka-ito wrapping is available in either black or tekkon, over black ray skin.

Choose from three Saya, all of which include hitodome; kuroro (glossy black), kuro-ishime (matte black) or cha-ishime (matte brown) Your iaito is available with suguha or hasebe kunishige (signature hamon) on the toshin.

We have limited the choice of custom options, thus allowing for quick delivery (4 - 8 weeks crafting time) However, despite the greatly reduced crafting time, there are no compromises - we guarantee Aoi quality.

Metal-cast Flex Resistant Heavy Zinc Aluminum Alloy Blade

The toshin width is thicker than the conventional sand-casted blade, it is much heavier at approximately 880g(2.45 shaku). The thick blade enables production of longer lengths in blade without increasing chances of breakage.
