The Higozakura iaito features overall Higo styling with finely detailed inlay work. Higozakura is considered to be one of the most luxurious iaito in its class, boasting black and gold finishing. Ume no zu is a beautiful tsuba, decorated in traditional Japanese plum blossoms, complimenting the inlayed golden Sensu (fan) menuki.

The Higo style fuchi/kashira features sakura (cherry blossom) inlay. One may choose from three different saya - kuroro (glossy black), kuro-ishime (matte black) or cha-ishime (matte brown). All saya choices include hitodome.

Your iaito is available with Suguha or kanesada (signature hamon) on the toshin and 100% cotton wrapping in black or purple over a white ray skin tsuka.

We have limited the choice of custom options, thus allowing for quick delivery (4 - 8 weeks crafting time) However, despite the greatly reduced crafting time, there are no compromises - we guarantee Aoi quality.

Metal-cast Flex Resistant Heavy Zinc Aluminum Alloy Blade

The toshin width is thicker than the conventional sand-casted blade, it is much heavier at approximately 880g(2.45 shaku). The thick blade enables production of longer lengths in blade without increasing chances of breakage.
